Does plex look anywhere outside its own bundle for scrapers?

I'm thinking about writing a scraper and wondering if Plex looks anywhere outside its own application bundle for scrapers? I'm not seeing a logical place in Application Support's Plex folder.
Additionally: will the way scrapers work be changing with Plex 0.9?
Plex doesn’t look outside the application bundle for scrapers, and yes, the way metadata retrieval works will change in 0.9 (and be incompatible with the current scraper system). Sorry I don’t have more information for you yet, but it’s probably best to wait until the new version’s released before starting something new
