Server Version#: 1.22.3.4707
2012 MacMini running MacOS 10.13.6
So for the last few days (since the last update) Plex isn’t properly scraping movies? New TV episodes scrape all their information just fine, Movies do not. They are recognized as new addition, and load up with the correct name… but no art scrapes for them, no other metadata like screening date or plot synopsis…
I try to Fix-Match them using the “Plex Movie (Legacy)” as well as “The Movie Database” agents… but even though they give me a correct title/date on the search, and I select a good match for the file to be scraped for my movie… nothing updates in Plex. They just gray-out and spin like they’re loading for a long time… and then are back to a flat file with no metadata.
Screenshot example: ScreenCap Image Link
I can manually input all the required fields, but… I’d like auto scraping to work again.

Sorry, updated the attachment to be the correct debug logs!
Your logs look like it is still scanning your tv library and it looks like you renamed them all to an unsupported naming scheme? It looks like it is still doing that and hasn’t even really gotten to the movies yet.
There is a ton of lines like this.
Jun 23, 2021 22:02:18.182 [0x7fffaebc7380] INFO - Part rename detected [/Volumes/TV Shows/Law & Order/Law & Order - Season 14 (SymLinks for XBMC name scanning)/Law & Order S14E09 Compassion.avi] was renamed [/Volumes/TV Shows/Law & Order/Law & Order - Season 14/Law & Order 14-09 Compassion.avi]
I highly suggest upgrading the agent to use the new Plex Movie agent it is much faster
I believe the TV renaming errors are because I have a lot of files represented by SymLinks (but named identically) since I had to move them as my collection has grown. However, all the files still play and work fine, and operate seamlessly (and have for years before this update?)
I admit to not being a pro at reading these debug logs… but is that the only error? because, none of the TV files have changed in a loooong time and as of just three or four days ago movies were scraping correctly?
Your scanner logs are completely full of it doing nothing but processing TV file renames.
The legacy agent logs looks fine except for chapter DB which is sort of expected for newer movies.
But again i really suggest using the new movie agent instead.
also is something playing or being optimized or syncing? the transcoder looks like it is having trouble processing something
None of my files are renamed, they have been moved with SymLinks but Plex has always handled SymLinks just fine. Does Plex no longer support SymLlinks?
Libraries became too large to house on a single array, and are spread across three different storage volumes now. I SymLinked them years ago when splitting the storage so that in Plex’s eyes none of the files “moved” and therefor it still could look at one single folder location as the “TV Depository”.
You believe that is now causing the movie scraper to be broken? I just ran a Movie Scrape by manually ordering it, and it completed successfully, but the files remain without MetaData (New Logs attached).
I even tried turning off the TV Episode location, so only the Movie files are viewable by Plex and re-tried a forced scan of Library files… still no metadata for the new movies added these last few days.

Can you try turning off Generate intro markers in your server library settings, restart server and try it again.
Generate Intro Markers turned off, restarted Plex Server, no dice on boot up. Forced a Movie Library Scan, no Metadata scraped for them. Forced a rematch by searching with The Movie Database agent… and nothing again. New Logs posted here:

Looks like it might be pulling in bad cached data. Can you clear http cache for imdb and themoviedb. info here how Clearing Plugin/Channel/Agent HTTP Caches | Plex Support
Thanks to BigWheel for the help so far, but I’m still broken.
I emptied the cache folder… restarted the Plex Server… still not loading new movies metadata.
attaching updated logs after the cache rebuilding restart:

@TheEdsons
Would you please turn DEBUG logging back on until this is resolved?
I found one thing immediately…
You have spaces where they do not belong.

ok, I have turned DEBUG mode back on… and gotten rid of the spaces in my “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”
Thanks for helping fix that unrelated issue, @ChuckPa! I didn’t even know that was my error for that!
Now see if you get metadata ? (adjust for maximum
)
@ChuckPa, Still not getting metadata to scrape.

@ChuckPa: Sorry, but for the Newb… I can do step 1. How do I accomplish 2 & 3?
@ChuckPa, I’ll update in a few days… clearing that cache somehow killed off the metadata for around 200 of my TV shows (which were connected to Plex at the time?)
So, they are slowly redownloading all that metadata… and I’ll see if the movies work again after that process completes?
