So, a show (“Masterclass”) matches using PlexSeries just fine, but… it’s not getting new season nor artwork from TheTVDB (that I added there over 24 hours ago).
(1) Is there a PlexSeries website that I can access ala thetvdb site to make sure that I’m using season/episode naming that PlexSeries uses?
(2) IF PlexSeries gets it’s data from thetvdb, how often does it get updated from thetvdb?
(3) Is there a way to tell PMS to use thetvdb for just the metadata (artwork, episode info)? I tried to fixmatch with “thetvdb-362158”, but it still didn’t get the ‘new’ metadata from yesterday.
So, I therefore gather that PlexSeries Agent does use TheTVDB for it’s data???
So, I should always use TheTVDB for series/episode naming for Plex and “just be patient” when TheTVDB has to be updated and THEN reload metadata in PMS?
Plex uses it’s own caching of info from the different sites rather than pulling directly from them each time for each user. I think they refresh their cache depending on calls - it seems; the more popular or recent a movie\show the more quickly the cache gets updated and the more quickly the updated info\media comes to our servers.
New episodes for popular shows usually pick stuff up in 12-24 hours. Older or less popular closer to that 48. In my experience.
Edit: TVDB is also real particular about things sometimes and that can make new stuff or changes take longer too. I mostly only use TVDB specific when I need DVD or absolute episode ordering otherwise I stick with TMDB (or if it’s a series like Helluva Boss that isn’t on TMDB). TMDB is a bit looser about things so it’s easier to get things updated there sometimes and I think it comes down to Plex faster - again might just be my own experience.
