Hello
Is it possible to configure the rasplex and/or the PMS to work on the LAN in case of WAN failure ?
By manually setting the ip address of the server in the rasplex conf?
Many thanks
Only if you disable secure connections and any user authentication in general. Both require access to plex.tv.
There is a ‘manual server configuration’ in Rasplex where you can input the local IP address of your Plex server.
Thanks for reply
You mean I need to :
- go to general settings to disable secure connection
- go to general settings to disable user authentication
- Set the manual server ip configuration
Or I have to do either the 2 first line or the last?

All of these.
The first two need to be done in the server’s configuration.
Settings - Server - Network - ‘Secure Connections’ = DISable
Settings > Server > Network > ‘List of networks that are allowed without auth’ = network address of your local network e.g. 192.168.1.0/24
restart the server for these to take effect
And if you have a second user account created for your kids, you cannot use it anymore. Because the server simply gives out any media file without authentication now.
Ok thanks I will keep this conf for backup in case of WAN failure only
