Plex Server Crashing at Random Times

I recently migrated my server from windows to linux (Ubuntu 22.04) due to crashing and old server. Unfortunately the new server is also randomly crashing every day or so and I cannot determine why. Would anyone be able to see the logs attached and know what is going on? The local web interface 10.0.0.2:32400 works but shows no content. When I ssh in to the server the logs below show it is working. Tautulli is setup to email when plex goes offline and it does not during this event as it thinks everything is fine. Also I should mention that I just added Overseerr to the same server. What is going on?

I see you’re running Plex in a VM.

What’s the Hypervisor?

The logs you provided don’t show any evidence of crash.

Next time it does crash, can you grab the logs ZIP file right after you restart it and then attach that ZIP file ?

The hypervisor is Proxmox and I am passing the Intel HD Graphics 630 thru to this VM.

I will post the logs when this happens again just after I reboot.

Proxmox is a PITA. We try to support it as best we can but it’s not official support.

I had to jump through hoops to make a test machine just to learn the basics.

If you’re trying to do SR-IOV, I will stop you here. It doesn’t work (yet?).

Transcoding works fine in Ubunutu from Proxmox. In the logs would it show if this is causing the failure?

The UHD630 is a great little GPU. I use it on all my NUCs.

Yes, the DEBUG server logs will show the last thing it was doing at time of crash.

This is almost always a perfect ‘smoking gun’ as to the problem.

I think the original source of the “crash” was my old server turning on and making the interface appear offline even to itself. Has not happened now that the old server has been shut down.

However… I think I have a real crash log. Please take a look and let me know if this tells you what happened.
