Plex Server Crashing regularly

Hello,

My plex server is crashing on my Mac after many years of stable use. It originally happened while on the PlexPass branch, but reverting to the stable branch also causes the crash.

The crash occurs sometimes in 20 minutes from restart, other times it takes a few hours.

I’ve attached my logs. Here are a few log items from the most recent crash.

2018-02-14 12:44:26,152 (7fffb0a83340) : CRITICAL (runtime:709) - Private handlers are no longer supported; couldn’t register >

and:

Feb 14, 2018 12:44:36.630 [0x700000993000] WARN - [E] web_service_t::get_device_status. get_device_info returned error for device dvb#hdhr#0#273979660

Help is appreciated. Thank you.
Mike

My server crashes after the last update then won’t connect to the server.I get the message “server cannot create session for”.Then it keeps trying to connect then asks if I want to retry all the time.Have to force quit the app then restart the app on my server on my mac then it reconnects.Keeps happening every 30 minutes or so.

I have had the same issue as well. My Mac has been running plex for years now and recently I wake up and the server is off. Sometimes it’s two or three times a day, very annoying. If anyone has any ideas please let us know.

I’m getting this as well. Or at least I have a similar outcome and log entries.

What I see is that playback will take a long (infinite) time to start and restarting plex (I’m running in a docker container) will then see the same video loading perfectly and instantaneously.

Did you ever get to the bottom of what was causing this?

If you are getting server crashes (the topic of this forum thread), please provide logs.
