Thank you. Lets try and isolate the version the issue came with - bearing in mind this forum thread is older
Could you filter the Windows Application Event Log for the msi events and export or just note down the dates the installs took place for Plex Media Server and the versions - and then we can try and downgtade and home in one what version the issue came with
i can look in the event logs; are there specific event IDs related to plex that you could point me to? It will help narrow down the search. if not i will just look for MSI events over the last two weeks or so.
Click āFilter Current Logā in the Actions side bar on the right
Open the āEvent Sourceā dropdown and select MsiInstaller
Click away and hit OK
Then either
Select all filtered events and Click on āSave Filtered Eventsā and save to csv or text file
or do repeated Control & F and search the filtered events for Plex and note down the dates and versions. Note that version numbers drop out one of the Plex Media Server version digits
Lets check if the ā%TEMP%ā directory still has the information
Look for files named āPlex Media Server_yyyymmddhhmmss.logā
Also look at what auto updates were downloaded and what day and see if you can recall the date from that list
āC:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Updatesā
With regards to the separate unrelated matter for the iPhone Plex app on 192.168.99.154 - do you recall what was being streamed last on 15 December ? Could you get me the plex app logs from the iPhone in case there is still some info relating to that. The server logs showed some invalid requests for playback state updates which I would like to follow up.
If you are unable to reach the server during the lockout, just copy out the Logs directory manually and zip the copy and upload here. Please do not zip the directory in-situ as that would skip the open files
The log that you sent me was an install/update log from %Temp% - the only reason I mentioned these install logs to @svtmustangcobra96_gmail.com was to establish which versions of Plex Media Server were installed on what dates
Thanks - Iāve found out that if I kill āPlex Media Scannerā the server become available but I canāt see my library⦠If I start āPlex Media Scannerā everything is backā¦
Hi
This is also happening to me, I am running on Linux with plex last beta version, I also mentioned a few weeks ago on twitter about this issue.
itās impossible to you to check all the logs about this issue, it occurs on many systems, win linux, impossible that you cannot see it your self in a lab or something
It only happen in big libraries
All cores go to 100%
Logs stop in normal scan process
Also try to use plexignore for extrathumb extra art jpg png etc
Database maintenance and export restore
In the logs I can only see, a new diferent message
WARN - Held transaction for too long
For what I saw here in forum and related to this message is that version 1.17.0.1841
logs are attached; some reported in use during zip, but a good number of them are here. i will say since the most recent update tuesday, it seems better so far. I havent added a bunch of stuff recently though, only a few things.
any news on this? started happening to me again tonight. I do feel like if i run db optimizer it helps for a short period (could be my imagination). In any event, its annoying, hoping it is resolved soon.
here are updated logs, its been literally over 2hours since the server has been properly usable. All I did was replace some low quality album rips with 320kbps mp3s rerips i did. Its been scanning the music folder and cutting out every 20-30 seconds since before my last post and this is still occuring. Plex Media Server Logs_2019-12-23_23-09-17.zip (5.7 MB)
honestly feel like this is beta software that customers have to pay forā¦
