Plex server goes unresponsive periodically

Plex is running the official docker container (image id: db7e90bd3365). It has happened a few times tonight just simplying playing a video via the web browser. I see the following ERRORS in the plex media server log.

Unsure if this is related, but usually around the same time I get a few PubSubManager errors.

Are there other logs I can provide that may help? I’ve gotten to the point I can’t really watch a movie completely without it failing on me in the middle of watching.

Settings - Server - Help - Download Logs will provide everything we need to see in the ZIP file it gives you.

Those connections (PubSub timeout) are usually related to networking problems. The connection is failing because your computer can’t connect to those external IP addresses.

Attach the .zip here? Is it sanitized of private/sensitive data?

I know the server can connect to the internet as other docker containers are not having issues accessing the internet.

After more troubleshooting, I’m thinking other containers (sonarr/radarr) may be causing some contentions (maybe trouble internal to docker). I’m going to pull them off and put them on a different host.

Yes, the ZIP is sanitized. If you prefer, I will remove it as soon as I download it or you can PM it to me.

If you do PM the logs, please include a link to this thread so I know where to post back to.

Thanks for the logs. I found it immediately.

Your database is in desperate need of optimization.
Hover over Libraries to expose the ellipsis (...) and click it
Click `Optimize Database’
When it completes, restart PMS to restart everything.

For future references. please keep “Verbose” logging turned off until requested. I was fortunate to find the problem… In most cases where Verbose is enabled, I don’t.

Thanks for pointing that out. That’s odd that I have the scheduled task to optimize the databases. Does manually triggering it do something different?

Engineering is working on a problem with the entire Butler (as we call it) and all its Scheduled Tasks. That’s why it wasn’t working as it should.

Until the next release, it is strongly recommended:

  1. Remain at 1.10.1
  2. Turn off all automatic optimizations
  3. Turn off Deep Analysis
  4. Turn off Automatic Bit Rate in all player apps.

Alrighty. Thanks for the help. I’ll let it run and see how it works now.

I am having this same issue with plex suddenly freezing for no particular reason. Started recently. Can I upload my logs (zipped) here as well?
