Plex server has an error in the Chinese translation

I have corrected the wrong translation on the Transifex website and saved it, but I’m not very familiar with it, so I’m posting to ensure the wrong translation can be corrected. Or can someone tell me how to make sure the wrong translation will be corrected?

Currently, “Episode ordering” is mistakenly translated as “剧集排序.” In Chinese, it means “Episode ordering.”
Let me use images to visually represent this error.

You are saying that “Episode ordering” is translated as “Episode ordering”.
So the translation is correct. Though I don’t understand Chinese, so maybe there is something I’m missing.

I realized that I might have misunderstood it. I originally thought it should be translated as “source of project metadata”. Later I found that there is more than one such setting.
So now the problem becomes: “Episode ordering” and “Episode sorting” are both translated as “剧集排序”. This will cause misunderstanding.

However, I came across a netizen who created a translation file for Simplified Chinese users. Here’s a recommendation for the official team: GitHub - x1ao4/chinese-language-pack-for-plex: 非官方 Plex 简体中文语言包 - Unofficial Simplified Chinese Language Pack for Plex

I believe his translation is more accurate and better aligns with the language habits of Simplified Chinese users. Please consider applying it. Currently, the official Chinese translation contains numerous errors and lacks a review process for translations.

Only a Chinese speaker can apply it, by editing the language project in Transifex.

Currently, there should be a lack of translation reviewers. Or you can check my previous reply. That GitHub project contains very excellent translation files.

Reviewers are not required.

That is to say, as long as I modify the translation, it will be applied in future versions?

As long as the translation on Transifex is complete, there is at least a chance that it will eventually be used in the Plex app.

I have uploaded the translation file, but I noticed that some of the “reviewed entries” have incorrect translations and are locked. How can I modify these incorrect translations?

Are you seeing these only in the “Plex Media Server” project, or are there also wrong translations in other projects? Like e.g. “Plex Client Service” for the new Plex experience apps?

I did not see “Plex Client Service” on the Transifex website
I am not very familiar with this website.

Sorry, I missed that Plex Client Service currently doesn’t have a project for Chinese.
It is discussed internally though, to add one.

I understand what you mean. I just updated the Plex app on the AppStore (iOS). It currently does not support Chinese, and the default language is English. Will its future translation projects also be added to Transifex?

Getting back to the original question, how should I modify those “Reviewed entries” in Transifex?
For example, the incorrect translation of “studio” has existed for many years.
In this example, the error should only exist in Plex Media Server, where it is translated as “演播室” which is incorrect.
In iOS and Apple TV / Localizable.strings, it is correctly translated as “制片公司”.
There are still many similar mistakes.

You cannot.
There is a change required in Transifex to allow that.
I have already asked about that.

I think this is a known issue that needs to be resolved.
From the perspective of a paying user, I believe this should not be considered user-generated content.
But since we are now willing to contribute our efforts, it should be ensured that our contributions are absorbed by the project.

Rather than leaving the issues unresolved, I find this kind of response unreasonable.

Perhaps the simplest way is to set some Chinese users as “reviewers”?I can try to be a part of it.
