I previously posted a thread about translation issues, but no one replied. Now I have some other questions to ask, hoping that someone can respond. I tried reaching out to the staff on Transifex for feedback, but didn’t receive any response, so I had to post on the forum.
Because many translated strings on Transifex have been locked, and there are numerous incorrect translations within the locked projects, I’ve made modifications to the local language files to correct these errors.
However, I’ve noticed that some newly added strings aren’t being recognized. There are certain strings related to Plex Media Server that aren’t included in your language pack, and users are unable to map translated content for these strings when added manually. I’m hoping you can update the mapping for these strings. The following are some examples.

Also, there are some strings already present in your language pack. Although there are translation mappings in the language pack, users’ clients still display English instead of the translated content. These items haven’t been correctly mapped. The following are some examples.
The butler analyzed {1} items.
The butler cleaned {1} media bundles.
The butler cleaned {1} metadata bundles.
The butler performed deep analysis on {1} files.
The butler generated chapter thumbnails for {1} files.
The butler generated {1} credits markers.
The butler generated {1} season intro markers.
The butler generated {1} video preview thumbnails.
The butler performed loudness analysis on {1} albums.
The butler performed sonic analysis on {1} batches of albums.
The butler processed {1} files for autoTag generation.
Additionally, there are some strings where the same word is used in English, but it needs to be translated differently in Chinese. Currently, there isn’t a solution for this scenario.
For example, “Show” in English is translated to “节目” (program) in Chinese, but in the context of “Show, Hide,” “Show” should be translated to “显示” (display). For instance, in the context of choosing whether to display seasons, there isn’t a corresponding translation mapping for “Show” at present, so it always displays in English.
Similarly, “Album” in the music library should be translated as “专辑” (album), while in the photo library, it should be translated as “相册” (photo album). However, currently, they can only use one translation mapping.
Furthermore, in the photo library, “Photos” and “Albums” should actually be “Folders” in the context of “Albums” under these two options.
There’s another scenario where, when TV show seasons don’t have specific titles, Plex defaults to generating titles like “Season 1,” “Season 2,” and so on. Although there’s a translation mapping in the language pack for “Season {seasonNumber}: 第{seasonNumber}季”, this translation mapping isn’t applied to these automatically generated titles. Currently, these titles are generated as “季1,” “季2,” “季3,” etc., instead of “第1季,” “第2季,” “第3季,” and so forth. I’m unsure how to resolve this issue.
In Plex for Mac’s music library, when sorting by release date, the display format for the release time also uses English. The months are displayed in English instead of the Chinese “年月日” format.
Another issue is with the translation of “Friends with {names}.” In both English and Chinese, the comma usage differs. When {names} refers to multiple people, there isn’t a string mapping provided for translation. Consequently, Chinese characters are paired with English punctuation, which also needs to be addressed.
Another issue is with the “Discover” page where “Trending” and other pages support displaying translated item titles, but the “Profile” page doesn’t support displaying or translating titles; it consistently shows English titles.
Currently, there are many issues with the translation, but it seems that there isn’t a dedicated translation team or individuals responsible for it. Additionally, there appears to be no channel for feedback and communication. Besides participating in translation on Transifex, users seem unable to help optimize and assist Plex in resolving translation problems. Due to many contents being locked, ordinary users also can’t add strings. There are now many issues that need to be addressed, but it’s unclear how to proceed. We hope that relevant personnel can provide a response.
