As the title says, I have a NAS on the network, the Win10Pro pc has mapped drives to the nas (M=music drive, P=photo drive, V=video drive) and is hosting PLEX. All drives (and folders on the NAS) have the same permissions.
I was able to add a video library pointing to the V drive.
I am NOT able to add a music library pointing to the M drive.
Now the M drive is MUCH larger but that should just mean it takes longer. However it fails completely.
Any help would be appreciated.
Please define “fails completely”.
When attempting to add a folder library, it doesn’t see the M drive?
If it doesn’t see it, is Plex running as a different user than the user your mapped?
Rather than trying to map to M, have you tried adding the path using the \\server\folder mapping that Windows has mapped M to? Does that mapping have spaces in it? (I recommend never use spaces in path names, I dont care what operating system one may be on)
Does the user Plex is running as have read access to the \\server\folder that is your music location?
Have you looked at your Plex server logs to find any mention of errors regarding access M or music library?
Solved.
Plex shows no indication when it is mounting a “large” drive. It just takes time.
I mounted the m drive and on the third try I finally noticed the hard drives in the nas crunching so I left it over night. Next morning it was there.
