Plex Server no longer available after switch to 64 bit build

Server Version#: 1.29.0.6219

This is a bit puzzlinng. I saw a notification on my Plex web interface of a new version, so I went ahead and updated to it. In the notes was the mention of a 64 bit version being available.

So I went over to the site and downloaded the installer for it and installed it. It detected the 32 bit version and uninstalled it, then went ahead and installed the 64 bit version. After which, it started up, but I was not able to access the server via the tray icon or any player app I had.

I quit out of the server and started it up again, and still nothing. It hung up at connection to 127.0.0.1.

I wasn’t able to get anything to come up at all with the windows x64 version. I uninstalled that version and reinstalled the 32bit version and that worked just fine.

Am I missing something?

I have been running the 64 bit version since it got released in nightlies - without any issue whatsoever.

All updates have progressed without issue.

Win 11 Pro.

I did reboot the server after the install and made sure I wasn’t using old app shortcuts etc,

How long did you wait before trying to load the UI?

Hm, not that long. I waited long enough for the tray icon to apppear and scoot itself into the overflow area. Then when I could get the web UI to open I let it sit for a couple of minutes.

Might want to give it 30-60 minutes, might be doing some database updates. often those can take 15-20 minutes.

I just tried the process again. This time I was able to just jump right into the UI after the 64bit switch. :person_shrugging:
