Plex Server not installing on Mac mini

Server Version#: 1.44.0
Mac OS: Sierra

My Mac Mini was downgraded to an earlier version of Mac OS intentionally so that it can act a server. That was a while ago. I don’t really need to use it as a server anymore as everything I use is now in a cloud. So the Plex Server on my Mac mini would not load, so I installed and re-installer Plex Server, shut down the Mac mini on a few occasions and changed my security to allow an unrecognised App and then tried to install the Plex Server app from applications and it wont install even after changing the security settings. Need help ideas please

What exactly do you mean by “it won’t install”?
I suppose you dragged the PMS app bundle into your Applications folder.
If you double-click it… do you get to see the Plex chevron/icon in your Mac’s menu bar?

If the Plex Media Server won’t start and doesn’t even get to the stage where it’ll be writing to the server logs, you can attempt the following procedure to see if there’s any error messages on the OS level:

  1. Open Finder and navigate to /Applications
  2. Select Show Content from the context menu of the Plex Media Server.app item
  3. Navigate to Contents/MacOS
  4. Open the Terminal app
  5. Drag the Plex Media Server executable from the Finder window (#3) into the Terminal Window and press Return to execute it

This is no different from running the app, so it won’t succeed – but you should get a more specific error message about what’s causing it to fail starting.
