<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Did you already have a look at the related troubleshooting support article?

There’s also a guide with some more details on how to troubleshoot remote access issues:

I’ve had this issue for about 6 months. I have been told it’s the cert failing to update. Can you please check on your end.

I don’t have access to Plexā€˜s backend.
Are your server logs showing an issue with your certificate?

So I don’t know how to view the logs. I’ve been reading up on this through the forums. And my Plex server stopped being remotely available 6 to 8 months ago. ā€œAPI rate limit exceededā€ (429, code 1003)?

Everything is set correctly, and my port is forwarded with the default port.

Assuming you are running DSM 7 on your NAS, open File Station and navigate to /PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Logs and then open the Plex Media Server.log file using Text Editor on the NAS.

You may need to install Text Editor from the Package Center.

Look for lines similar to this:
Aug 16, 2026 02:08:17.605 [139842429815608] ERROR

That should tell you how and why Plex is failing, if at all.

You may also right click on the Logs folder and select Compress to Logs.zip and then post that .zip file to the forum so we can take a look at the logs for you.
