Everything was working fine with Remote Access up until a few days ago.
I have a static IP address from my ISP which hasn’t changed and I have a lifetime Plex pass so those outside my Lan should be able to access.
However, now the Remote Access won’t work as it was a few days back.
I had just the normal auto settings enabled and everything was fine.
My ISP says nothing has changed so are bouncing me back to Plex as the first port of call.
Can anyone suggest a way to re-establish the remote access, otherwise I have paid a ton of cash for the plex pass so my grandkids can watch tv and movies that now doesn’t work.
Given the uptick in Mac OS users posting remote access problems I can only suspect a change on the Apple front. To find out if you have CERT issues, post your logs.
Go to Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting in Plex Web App
Click the Download Logs button
Save the resulting zip file
You can now share the zip file to help investigate an issue you’re experiencing (for instance, by attaching the zip file to a forum post you make about the issue).
Check your Plex Media Server.log and the rollover files for the error noted in the post below. It appears there’s an issue with the certificate type being issued, YR2. If you have the similar error, I’d post there and ask for it to be refreshed/reset to the supported certificate type.
