We have two computer accounts on our MacBook, but when we download Plex Server to each account, it only opens in one account and prevents the other from opening? I have tried re-downloading it on my account but it still doesn’t work? Is there a way we can have the Plex server separate on both of our accounts, so that we can watch what we want without logging into the other persons account every time? We’ve tried “share library” but its not a Shared Library, I’m not able to put anything in it.
That’s not how Plex works. You cannot have 2 instances of PMS running at the same time. You can have 1 PMS under 1 Plex account, then share that server with the other Plex account. When you sign into either account, you will see the server and watched status will be tracked per account. But only 1 account can manage the server.
I’m having the same issue. This is not a Plex user issue but a macOS user issue. In our case when my wife logs into her Mac user account all of our media becomes unavailable in plex so we have to log back into my Mac user account for it to work. Would love to figure that out…
