Plex server on dynamic IP

Hi, I’ve been using plex media server on static IP for years but soon I will change my provider and will be on dynamic IP.

My question is how does the server deals with the IP change? Playback interrupts? Long time to discover new IP?

@trumpy81: he asks what happens in the moment of a disconnect and reconnect with a changed ip. Does plex publish the changed ip the second the WAN interface is reconnected and received a different ip?

So minimum unreachability would be

  1. the reconnection time
  2. The duration till plex recognizes and publishes the changed ip

Most routers provide an option to schedule the WAN reconnection.
If you schedule it at a time in the early hours of a day (like 5am?), who is going to notice the unreachability?
