I was trying to run my server on M1 with Monterey (and Big Sur). The whole system was very sluggish, even getting to the stage where new apps would not fully install. I did some research and found out that “QtWebEngineProcess” was using 98% of the CPU all the time. The advice was to go to the Activity Monitor and force quit the process. As soon as I did that the system started running at full speed. The advice was to look for “Abnormal Apps” in the Applicant folder. As I run a very lean system I could not find anything unusual. I ran spyware/malware apps but found nothing unusual.
Any ideas.
