I access my Plex server from Nvidia Shield Pro on my Tv I want to connect the shield to my server to use the storage for Live TV does anyone know how to set this up I cant really find anything on Nvidias website that will help I can connect the Shield for remote storage but something Is missing it wont record to my server
So if your Plex Media Server is running on a Windows Server as mentioned in the title wouldn’t it already have access to the storage on the Server? Why do you need your Nvidia Shield Pro to access the storage on the server? You should be using the Plex Client on the Shield.
Once logged into your account would see the Plex Server running on your Windows Server and could play the media files from the Plex Media Server on the Windows computer.
Don’t understand what the question you are trying to ask, would need more information. Are you wanting to configure Plex Media Server on your Shield as well as your Windows Server?
Sorry i knew this might be a bit confusing, i have a plexpass accout with a HDHomeRun turner to record live tv, my plex setup is on a windows 2012r2 server. I was trying to setup my shield with network storage to record the livetv and such but i cant seem to get it to link to it so everytime i want to use my shield to record it tells me I don’t have enough storage
Sounds like you have configured Plex Media Server on your Shield. I would turn that off and only use the Plex Media Server on your Windows 2012r2 Server. Just use the Plex Client on your Shield to connect to your Windows Plex Server.
How do i do that I’ve been fiddling around with it and don’t see how to do that
On your Shield, not in Plex, go to the Settings/Apps/See all apps. Find the Plex Media Server, which you will may find under System Apps, and Force Stop and then Disable it. Then in your Plex app on the Shield you should be able to connect to the Plex Media Server on your Windows Server to access content on that server.
