Recently say around 07/22/2021 my plex media server even when movies are played directly on the server the movies will not play. It says there were either too many errors or it just times out. The version of the media server I am using is Version 1.23.6.4810. Again this is running on Windows 11 and it has been running just fine. The movies when played not using plex play just fine.
Pull the log files and check the Plex Media Server.log file for error messages containing “database locked.”
Example:
ERROR - Failed to begin transaction (..\Plugins\PluginDatabaseState.cpp:110) (tries=10): Cannot begin transaction. database is locked
If you see the messages, then see the below thread for a hotfix build and status updates.

Good to hear you’re up and running again.
For anyone else that runs across this thread, updated versions are now available via the regular methods: Settings → Server_Name → General and from plex.tv/download.
OK WINDOWS 11 is now officially out, any word on a fix?

Yes, as zachleez mentioned, Windows 11 is officially out. Is PLEX ready for it? I do not want to upgrade my Windows yet until I know PLEX works fine on Windows 11. Thank you!

Mine seemed to be working after installing Win11 on my server computer, but as of yesterday, none of my devices can find it. Roku, FireTV, Sony TV? When I try to point to my media an on any device, I get a chance to download the server. Huh?
Is my imagination, or with each new feature or update to Plex something else fails. Is there an alternative to Plex that just runs your own media? I really don’t care for another streaming service with ads.
