Tutorial on how to setup a playlist is missing the point, here I shall post my response that I removed because of … what? not usefull? whatever, I just want to show where things go wrong.
It is a tedious angering process when over 5000 folders have to go to one playlist.
The makers should come up with a better solution for this. The way it goes now is way off.
I cannot believe that this playlist crap is going to work only on a player software of what I do not know of.
Plex, html based, like on the server clicking the icon in the taskbar, and open Plex, there should be EVERY DUMB THING that we actually want. That is the source, there, at that spot it should be possible to do all those dumb things I have been struggling for weeks, on and off.
Reminds me that a lot is working perfect on Plex, but also a lot very much NOT!
Please consider this making of a simple playlist on the server for those who do not have a ‘player’ like described in this tutorial, no way it is a tutorial if half the info is unusable.
I have been using for a very long time Winamp… Now, in under 1 minute I can make that playlist in Winamp without any problems, and maybe every time with shuffle on, the playlist might start with the same song, but the second is a totally different. I have once had a playlist made in plex, but how much or how many times I tried, it kept shuffling in one folder or repeated in a handful of artists and not going beyond. So this shuffling is also crap.
There is work to be done by those who are in the dev department.
So, there you have it, it is not even simple to make a playlist even the tutorial says it is, it is not.
Think about it, under one minute… Try that with plex.

I marked it as “off-topic”, because a HowTo thread is not for discussing features and how Plex should work.
It is for how users can achieve something with the current feature set.
There is a whole forum section dedicated to feature requests.
It is not for that part that you should notice, it is the lack of info in that tutorial, and since it is not allowed to add or get in conflict with the written tutorial, it also has no meaning to add something there if the software is completely missing the part I refer to.
The text I wrote is just an example…and I can not picture it here, so go try to add 6000 (counted them…) numbers into a playlist under one minute, it is not possible.
And I mean from start up - get there (still don’t know how) - select all files - find the [add to playlist] button/section and stop your stopwatch…
Simple thing that is in every Media software. If i store an folder.jpg it shows me the image instead of the folder. Its handy because i dont use the plex autofill interprets and so on cause it mess all my library into a mess. I use folder Option but its ugly and on the phone i cannot read the album name if its a long name. I can see just few letters.

You have to understand while we surely use Plex a lot of time, I for one am not used to translate my horror into a viable topic section, sorry, so I mostly make the mistake out of unknowing and not on purpose, just to make sure you understand that we are not (I most certainly not) teasing you guys.
