Same problem here to, Synology work fine.

Same here, RS816, DSM7, Plex Version 1.24.1.4931 installed manually.

My guess is about ‘auto updating the library’ as it was OK before I add a media, then push a new media in the library folder, and then Plex went off.

DMESG doesn’t show any “Out of memory” nor “Kill app
”

top is show not much free RAM (half is used/half is cache/buffer) or 10% swap is used

I disabled auto updating, I’ll see on next media push if that works.

Hi All,

I just updated to DSM 7.0 on a DS 718+ running plex 1.24.2.4973-7000 and have experienced the problem. Plex seems to run fine for a day or 2 and then just stops and has to be restarted. Will this be fixed? Synology server runs fine!

Yeah
the same with my Plex running on DSM7. Any Plex app of a version later than is available in package centre suddenly stops withot any reason. I found this at the moment when I manually start it in \dsm\var\log\synopkg.log

My crashes came back some time ago, didn’t have time to properly investigate yet, but they stopped again only once I stopped using iOS player completely (I’m the only user of my Syno server, so it was doable).

Most of the crashes happened right after I opened Plex iOS app, others I thought were random, but from the logs about a minute before the crash I usually see lines like DEBUG - Auth: authenticated user 16587110 as Ann
and Request: [192.168.1.132:63751 (Subnet)] GET /hubs/promoted?contentDirectoryID=1&count=50&excludeContinueWatching=1&includeExternalMedia=1&includeGames=1&includeMeta=1&includeRecentChannels=1&pinnedContentDirectoryID=1%2C4%2C9%2C2%2C10%2C11%2Cplaylists (18 live) TLS GZIP Signed-in Token (Ann) / Accept => text/xml,application/xml / ... / Connection => keep-alive / Host => ... / User-Agent => PlexMobile/7.22 (iPad; iOS 14.2; Scale/2.00) in the Plex logs (I use this user on iPad only). What’s even weirder, one time I saw this in the logs right after the crash, and went to see if the app was open/in the background, but it wasn’t - it was force-closed by me beforehand. So I’m not sure how is that even possible, felt like some ghost background activity.

I also use the latest Plex betas on iOS, if that makes any difference.

Anyone affected by the crashes, please make note of whether your random crashes might specifically correlate with iOS clients usage too.

This was happening to me on DSM6 and randomly stopped happening. Now that I have upgraded to DSM7 my Plex Application randomly stops. Today it has stopped twice, I just ran the server update for Plex hoping that it will resolve the issue. I have attached my logs in hope that you will be able to see why it is randomly stopping. The only thing I could see in one log was stopped by

I tried to and it wouldn’t upload to the site. So did what I could, sorry about that.
