I have an ubuntu 24 server where I installed plex by downloading the current version on plex.tv and using dpkg -i on it.
I’ve been struggling with the claim procedure for at least two week now ;
Sometime plex GUI (web) ask me to claim the server but if I check the Preferences.xml file the claiming data are already set.
Sometime it simply doesn’t allow me to do anything and display a “you don’t have access to this server”. No matter the content of thePreferences.xml file
What really confuse me is that my server is allowed to contact internet and even plex.tv. I can stream plex.tv content on my server and even see my Library until I claim the server.
At the second the server is claimed there are two ossible result for now :
- The server simply disappear from the list and the setting menu
- The server display a “you don’t have access, you should claim this server”
I also noticed that if I claim my server from the web gui interface then, i have a message saying 'an error occurred during registration"
Did anyone faced a similar situation ?
