Server is unable to find first season of a series. It does find the second season. The naming scheme is exactly the same, the files are intact and playable directly from TrueNAS via SMB share, but Plex Server does not find them. Any ideas?
Is your naming schema the one suggested by Plex or some random schema of your own?
Sounds like the naming / organization might be off and Plex therefore considering the different episodes to be duplicates of what’s showing as season 2.
How are the files organized within the folder linked to your library?
Are those mp4 files with embedded metadata?
Edit: apologies for assuming your naming schema is off… “my files are good” is a rather common opening for what tends to be deviating quite a bit from that schema
All movies are organized in /Movies and Tv shows in /TV Shows folders. All files are mp4 but in this case there is no embedded metadata as these are recordings.
Ok, i thought the (YEAR) naming scheme was only for movies. I did change this now and it solved the problem. Plex now finds Season 01. Thank you very much for your help.
But, as i understand the above comment, there can be no other name for a folder containing TV Shows other than TV shows? Even if, when i add folders to Plex, i define “Þættir - Erlent” (meaning foreign TV Shows) as a TV Shows folder? I have done this for close to 3 years without any problems what so ever until now. Reason is very simple, i define between domestic and foreign TV Shows and i would like to be able to do that. Could i rename the folder to something like “TV Shows - Foreign”? Would that work or not?
