This is also not working for me. I already have port forwarding configured as I have two servers running. This issue seems to remind me when they made the change to the web interface to use Plex.tv and some of us could not see internal servers.
I downloaded the app to the 360, logged in by PIN, and.. "Your Plex server is unavailable."
It's saying that the server version needs to be 0.9.10.2 or higher, but I was running 0.9.10.3, and just updated to 0.9.11.1, and still no go. It's got the name of my server right, so it knows what it's looking for.. just can't find it. Also, the server is definitely available, I can connect to it via iOS, etc.
Anyone else having this problem?
i had this when i first fired up the app.
think my LAN was being hammered at the time by other stuff, i just did a "search again" and it picked it up.
all ok now.

Did you change the connect port of your server to use, manually, the 32400 port? I had to do this, besides forwad the port in my router.
Yes my port forwarding is setup correctly, have it manually configured on the servers and in the router. It works fine for web based plex.tv,also works for android, and PlexHT (internally and externally for all). It is only the XBOX360 client that doesn't seem to be working.
Quattro,
Not sure if this helps (I think you're looking for more advanced setup than I have) but here is what i have my port forwarding set to:
For whatever reason, the 360 doesn't seem to like the UPNP settings that has worked for all other clients up to this point, that is the part that has me stumped.
on DDWRT that view is called port range forwarding
i added it, need to wait until i get home to check it
what i had previously was just a regular port fwd
not sure if having the entry in both places will work, at this point i'll try anything. i'll followup with the results
Thank you
I noticed that my 360 had a warning about having a Strict NAT when I did the xbox live test. So to fix that, I enabled UPnP on my firewall, adding rules to only allow the xbox and my plex server to use UPnP.
After that, I did the xbox live network test again, and no longer have the Strict NAT warning. Then I went to the Plex server config and changed the manual port setting to automatic to make sure it was able to UPnP as well, and that worked too.
So.. Xbox has all the access it needs to Xbox Live, Plex has all the access it needs.. and: "Server not available."
It'd be really great if one of the Plex devs would chime in here.
The additional port forward didnt work for me
for those users that it indeed did work making that change, were you able to access plex from the outside (internet) of you networks before the change?
Any information would be appreciated in order to assist this weird situation.
I'm curious to see if there are any similarities in network configs.
if you guys could provide routers used, ISPs would be most helpful in an attempt to narrow down the issue.
On my end the next thing i'll have to do is a wireshark snif and see what pops up.
Thank you
I agree it would be helpful if a Dev joined this thread to assist us as I am baffled
Me too, chimed in on the other thread. All port forwarding et al set up. Works fine for windows and Android inside and outside, just not XBox. Unable to communicate when trying to get to the libraries - even though server shows up with a green tick
EDIT: Nope the log out then back into the app worked for me too.
has anyone one of you added the port to your firewall. in windows server 2012 r2 i know you have to make a manual entry to the firewall to allow traffic on 32400, sorry have nottried plex on anything other than windows server 2012
Well you know some people hate technology and you ask yourself why? It is so cool, then you try to get an app to work all the time on your xbox after paying the cash and the fix starts to look look like lines of cdoe and you thinks, hey that's why some folk hate technology. Solution that will ensure plex taks to my xbox everytime I turn it on please!

I've tried it with it set manually as well as having it use UPnP. Doesn't work either way.
Also look at the 'NAT Loopback' setting of your router...
Disabling that may also have negative consequences for the way this works.

Success! This fixed it for me. I'm running a pfSense firewall, and NAT reflection was disabled by default. I enabled it, and boom, Plex works on my 360.
Have you done anything to troubleshoot it or are you just going to complain and hope it magically starts working.
Not singling you out but those who just post "me too, whats the deal" or "it doesn't work" or "I've tried everything" when they have two post and no info whatsoever about what is actually wrong really don't seem like they want it to work.
From another forum, love these comments, have tried as best i can for hours to get it to work on Xbox 360 before coming here and then spending hours looking for answers, think when a whole pile of peeps say that it works sometimes then it doesn't it is fair enough to let you know that it is a common problem with xbox. Now, I can delve into my router and start changing settings that I don't really understand but lets start with an explanation of why it worked perfectly when I installed it, then just stopped without me making any changes to my system
So now won't either: connect to server, or then connects and shows all movies but only shows play icon in main screen menu and then won't play when selected. Server now says content unavailable but thread to content is fine and shows all files. What have I tried, well signing in and out and restarting and reinstalling and refreshing and syncing and...
Great app when it works, just what I needed which is the only reason I persist, lets just say every app I use too this much of my time... you get the picture.
The best way I found to fix the caching of the incorrect server version was to sign out of my xbox 360 app (go to the 'Servers & Setting' part, then select the 'General' button to reach the login section), and then login with my password instead of the PIN. Hope this helps.
I found I could get away from the server unavailable issue by signing out from the Plex Xbox 360 app and signing back in.

Wow! That actually worked for me lol
Good looking
confirmed for me too, sign out in xbox then sign in with username and password

Did you use pure NAT or NAT and proxy?
Yay fellow pfSense user!!!
