I have been using google Drive unlimited storage with my personal plex server for over a year. It is fine for lower size/bitrate movies it anything 4K , over 20Gig or high bitrate and you get constant buffering. I’ve chalked this up to slow downloading from the google Drive. Now I use googles file stream to create the logical drive on my pc for plex to use. I’ve read up on stablebit cloud drive and rclone or plex drive but the two later options are more confusing to install on windows 10 and not sure they will make a difference. An anyone confirm using google Drive with 4K etc movies with no buffering? Just to add all movies play fine when locally stored on my server so it is google Drive, not my internet as I’m on a 1Gbps download connection. So I’m debating canceling google drive and. Using some more usb hard drives to store all my data but before I do that I thought l’d reach out to you all for any suggestions
I am curious to know how exactly you managed to stream from Google Drive back to a locally installed Plex Server as I am trying to do the same with just my music files?
Nevermind. I am running Plex through my Amazon TV appliance and figured out how to get it to run extremely smoothly, especially since I don’t try to view 4K video.
My Music, TV Shows, Music Videos, Training Videos, etc. all run as they should and therefore I am extremely please!
