I use Subler as a metadata editor on OSX.

If you configure Plex to use embedded metadata, the server will use the embedded cast list but isn’t able to match the actors themselves. Keep in mind there’s tons of same-named actors and Plex has no way to know which one you’re referring in your file – especially with all the different flavors how their names are spelled in the credits of their films (just think of Elliot Page → formerly credited as Ellen Page).
