Pictures of actors disapear

For some reason images of actors disapear when clicking on a movie. Mostly they are gone right away but somethimes I see a glimse of a few actors. Then they disapear and I have to refresh metadata to get them back. Refreshing metadata brings image of an actor back in all movies where he or she appears.
How can that be?
And
Is it possible to refresh ALL metadata in one click?

Plex has a most embarrasing issue here and it seems they ignore it!!!

Actor images are generally broken.

Yup, even with the new movie agent this is still an issue.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I have just started experiencing this issue.

Most of my media is in m4v containers from either Handbrake, or doing a codex copy via FFmpeg. This way I can easily write metadata to the file using Subler. Because of this, I have not had actor images in Plex since the cast list was pulled from the embedded metadata.

With the new Plex agent, it has started pulling actor images from online (which I like) but I have found that some movies do not pull an image, and therefore removes that actors image from all movies in Plex. Very frustrating.

Importing this movie, the actors have no images:

Which therefore strips their image from other movies they star in:

But if I refresh the metadata on the other movies the actors are present in, the images reappear:

I had the same actor picture disappearing issue, in sever version 1.20.3.3483 on Linux. Clicking on an actor made the actor picture disappear.

  • Refreshing metadata for a single movie fixed the actor pictures until the next click on an actor.
  • Refreshing metadata for all movies with a particular actor fixed it for that actor.
  • Refreshing metadata for all movies and TV shows fixes it for all actors.

Select all movies with the ‘shift’ key and first and last movie, and select refresh metadata. Repeat for TV shows

I am using Plex Media Server for Mac v1.21.1.3876 and this is a problem even now in the current version. Actors’ photos briefly appears and then disappears, both on macOS app and AppleTV Plex app.

Please fix this!
