Are you aware that the services has been down for at least one hour now?
All is green on the status page but I am not able to access my media or your site.
You need to fix the way authentication works.
This is why I can’t recommend Plex to anyone that want separate accounts for the family.
There are no known issues. I’m able to connect now and have been connected all day. Can you provide more details?
Hi,
I was also able to use the current active user on my IOS device but I was not able to switch users because the authentication was not working.
Luckily I was able to complete my movie, otherwise the message would not have been so pleasant
I was also not able to authenticate for this forum to post the message, which shows that it started working again. The issue was intermittent, mostly not working for the approximate hour.
Subdomains like support.plex.tv, status.plex.tv and forums.plex.tv was working fine as long as you didn’t wan’t to authenticate.
And, as I stated, the status page showed all green.
The issue I saw was either a hosting issue or a cert issue. The cert returned by the host did not correspond to the name returned in the CNAME record.
Trying to access the main domain plex.tv returned error “Invalid URL” from the hosting service.
The HTTPS connection was also marked as “Not secure” by all browsers I tested with.
But yes, Plex should give us, that are willing to tinker, a way to host our own authentication service so that we would only be relying on our own stupidity. I understand that the way it is not is easy for most but this is so aggravating to not have any control over the access to my own media during this period.
Yes yes, I could turn off the “home users” feature and access my media but I don’t feel that it should be necessary.
