Plex still trying to connect to old server after migration

Server Version#: unknown
Player Version#: unknown

I am working on migrating my Plex server onto a new k3s/Rancher cluster and using the latest linuxserver.io version. When I go to access the server through my new deployment, it is connecting to the old server. Thus, when I turn the old Unraid container server off, the new server can’t find my media.

The new server has access to all of the media, yet when i go to my local plex URL, it’s just redirecting me to “get plex media server”.

As mentioned before, I had this running on my Unraid server. I have to keep all of my watch history, so copied the Unraid appdata config to the new appdata location. Is there a setting in there somewhere that is telling plex to look at the old server instead of the new one?

Betting your preferences.xml got moved over too. see Why am I locked out of Server Settings and how do I get in? | Plex Support

I also posted on r/Plex, and a user referred me to this support document on moving an install to another system. I began following that, which instructed me to delete the libraries and re-add them. The problem now is that none of my previous watch data transferred over.

Should I have just adjusted the folder where the libraries point to rather than removing them entirely? I have a backup of my Plex appdata so I can recopy the original set.

Turns out I read the directions wrong and it didn’t say to delete the libraries. It just said to EDIT the libraries to update them with the new storage location. Then let the scan complete before moving onto the next Library.

WIll update if I run into further issues.
