I’ve been seeing crashes today as well, with this same critical error in the logs. I’m just waiting for it to happen again then I’ll add my logs to this thread (I’m on Ubuntu though).

Which PMS version please?

This looks like a new bug in PMS.

I will need the logs ZIP file please which captures this.

I’m having the same issue, but I’m on Windows 10. I’ve attached my logs from one of the times I caught it occurring.

This issue occurred a few times on 2021-08-31 in between the times of 21:15:38 - 21:47:42)

PMS Version: 1.24.1.4931
OS Version: Windows 10 20H2 Build 19042.1165

My PMS running on Synology has randomly stopped a few times this week after I updated to PMS Version 1.24.1.4931. I am still on Synology DSM 6.2.4 if that helps at all. I have also not yet updated my libraries to use the new Plex library agents that were recently announced.

I just turned on media server debug logging and will share logs after the next time it crashes.

Would one of you be able to provide a ZIP file which captures it?

I looked through @jason66_gmail.com logs and can’t find anything due to playback activity.

I see the crash

What are the particulars of what was happening at the time of the crash?
All I can see is it was starting to play something but there are no player details.

As far as I can tell, no one was playing anything. It happened around 6.12am this morning.
I’ve double checked with a friend who accesses the server remotely and he has not played anything for at least 24 hours.

The main clients are using Plex (latest version) on Shield Android TV.
The remote user is using Plex for LG TV.
Client 5.23.1
Platform 4.9.0
But again, no clients were accessing the server at the time of the latest crash

The log shows it did crash at 6:41.
here is what’s there which is the start of a playback.

Granted it shouldn’t crash but I’ve seen where Android clients in particular tend to cause the most crashes. The LG is an Android -based TV

Perhaps you can install tautulli so you can independently track playback starts?
This way , we can find the root cause and then I can take it to the appropriate team.

Can I just confirm in the log that 192.168.86.89 is the client requesting playback?

The plot thickens. That is my personal shield device. The strange thing is I’m thousands of kilometers away. I’ve asked my housemate to unplug it for me so it doesn’t go rouge again.

Indeed – the plot thickens. My shield is on 24/7 without issue but I only have Plex on it. Perhaps it’s not the Shield.

Tautulli will be definitive. You’ll see the IP addresses.
