Plex stops running every day or so

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252
Player Version#: 8.6.0.20351

Since updating the Synology media server for Plex recently, the server seems to stop running almost every day for some reason. I notice this as I have to log into Synology and run the server again - because my player can’t read the library anymore.

This is obviously extremely tedious, so thought I’d see if anyone is having the same issue, or knows why?

Thanks in advance.
Chris

Same here. Problem started with the latest server update

Plex server version 1.20.1.3252
running on Synology 918+ / DSM 6.2.3-25426 Update 2

I get the same issue, running Synology DS218J running Plex Version 1.20.1.3252

Ok, I’ve removed the files, but I’m still encountering the same problem of Plex stopping, it’s happening after an hour or so after starting it again.

PMS is still looking for media inside the Plex share – where it should not be.

It’s scanning itself and blowing up. This is why I placed the warning to not place media in the Plex share

We cannot support a configuration where media is placed in the Plex share as it is a documented user configuration error

‘Plex share’?

Sorry for being simple, but where is that?

I have no media in the Plex folder though. So that makes no sense.

I only have folders for ‘Files’, ‘Music’, ‘Video’ and ‘Photo’.

Thanks Trumpy!

Think that’s it. Recently added a Music folder and my dumbass seems to have inadvertently included the entire volume on the library path! :pensive:

Also really appreciate the heads up on the default folders - wasn’t aware of that!
