Plex streaming 5.1 and stereo and low volume problem

hi guys

so I have a huge server in my plex full of original blu ray movies and tv shows which have very high bitrates streaming.

i gave remote access to many of my friends to enjoy streaming and they all using LAPTOP to watch

since most laptop have WIFI only no ethernet and since not everyone have strong wifi connections. I always see them streaming at 4mps or 8mbps maximum without any buffer issues.

the problem is my friends complaining about the low VOLUME. the only way that they can get good loud volume either 1- play at original stream which hard when they don’t have high speed wifi 2- if they downgrade the streaming speed to 2mbps.

2mbps will force plex to covert sounds from 5.1 to stereo which will produce a very loud volume.

is there anyway I can force plex for my clients to convert 5.1 to stereo at any bitrate they stream so they can enjoy loud volume ?

Put PMP into the TV mode
pmp_tvmode

Click on the user avatar
Settings - Audio - (Number of) Channels = Stereo

Afterwards you can leave the TV mode if you want
