Plex subtitles not working

Subtites are not picked up automatically in Plex at all.. One example is:
Apocalypo (2006)

The SRT file is named the same and in same folder as the movie.. Confirmed by playing in VLC, it automatically picks up the subtitle file.

Even tried with “Local media assets” enabled in the Agent, no-go. and “Refresh Metadata” doesn’t help either as indicted in

If i pull down i can select “(Unknown) External SRT”, and that works, but i have to manually do it.
Running version is: 1.41.7.9799

Read the article that you have linked. Take note of how to indicate the language of an external subtitle.

ok, i just think i answered my own question.. The video in question is an .mp4

Subtitles are not hard-coded and must be taken from external SRT.. I think i’ll just leave its “as is”
