Plex sync didn’t download the associated external subs (srt in my case)

Well, i saw a topic like this in the forum which has opened on september 2020, but since it is closed, i had to open a new one.

I had to go to a different location for a small trip. Confidentally, i’ve synced/downloaded some of my shows to my ipad hoping to watch there cause there is no internet suitable for streaming. Once i’ve tried to play them, only the english subs played along the show. I could choose the sub i prefer, but again, english subtitles are shown. I’ve tried to download subs from opensubtitles, but again no, english subs only.

So, i really can’t get the idea why the sync feature exists if it isn’t only intended for native english speakers.

I was using infuse app prior using pms and when i downloaded a video, it automatically downloaded the associated subs. And this was from day one. Everything was thought out. And unlike plex, the videos was downloading very quick to my device. Plex did this sync extremely slow under the same conditions. And i never choose to transcode, burn subs etc. Because my device supports direct play and i don’t want to decrease my prefered quality and lose time for this.

So, does plex engineers really think that i should choose transcode and burn the subs into the video in order this sync thing work properly? Really?
