Plex Synology 214 - Permission Issues since Plex Media Server 1.15.4.994 - Shared Folder Mandatory?

Using DS 214 Play with Plex:
Server Version#: DSM 6.2.2-24922 (latest version)
Plex Media Server Version#: 1.15.6.1079 - 78232c603 (latest version)

Having permission issues in Plex to access my folder containing all my movies, which results library is not scanned properly anymore and I’m not able to play movies anymore on my TV.
Already using Plex at DS 214 Play for years, never had problems before.

Found out security policy changed since introduction of Plex Media Server 1.15.4.994:

Until now, I was using 1 (non-shared) folder containing all my movies. I changed permissions for plex user for this folder to ‘read/write’, but this did not help. I created a new (non-shared) folder containing 1 movie with same permissions, same problems.

If I create a new shared folder (same permissions), containing the same movie, it works fine !!!
So, for me it looks like it’s now mandatory to use a share folder(s) in Plex containing the movies.

Is this correct ? If so, how can I take care moving all my movies to a new shared folder, all metadata of Library I changed for a lot of films in the past, does not get lost ???

Thanks for your help and info.
I noticed this info, and already tried to execute Q5, Q5a and Q18.
Next questions:

About Q18: It’s saying next about the Plex-folder:
“In the Properties dialogue, on the General Tab, under Owner, select Plex to be the Owner and then make sure to put a tick beside.”
–> However, this is a shared folder, so doesn’t show the ‘Owner’ in the ‘General Tab’.
How to check if this OK anyway ?

About Q5a: #7 says:
“Update your libraries. Plex will scan the new folder paths and make the needed changes and Plex should reuse any existing metadata.”
–> This is my main problem. It’s not executing this for me at all, so loosing all my changed/added metadata (like poster/background pictures of films, changed titles, etc.).
No idea why, because followed the procedure as described at Q5a.
Could it be related to owner of Plex-directory (see previous remark)?

PS:
Just noticed the subfolders of Plex (Library and tmp_transcoding), ‘Plex’ is the owner. This folder was original also created by Plex itself.

And additional:
Can I now only use a shared folder for flex-movies ? Because util now, this was not necessary. Thnx.

Have been busy for days to solve this issue. Executed everything several times exactly according to Q5, Q5a and Q18. All did not help to solve the issue. Finally found another security issue, not described in Q’s, but seems to be checked since release 1.15.4.994. Pity this one was not described in the Q’s. Also noticed when installing a new version of PMS, it sets security of Plex directory not according to what is described in the Q’s. And no… I do not need any translation of the Q’s………
