Plex + TIDAL -- How does it work?

I sined up for a HiFi TIDAL account successfully for the 30day trial.

I read the Plex News article on Plex + TIDAL.

I still don’t know how this integration/feature is suppose to work.

I don’t see any new UI (maybe I’m blind?)
I’m not noticing anything different.
Can I access any of TIDAL many 59M+ archives of music and stream via Plex somehow?

I’m fairly sure I’m on the correctly supported versions of Plex:

  • Plex Media Server: 1.14.0.5470
  • Plex Web Client: 3.69.1

Thanks!

cheers
James

You are using the ‘local’ version of the web client. For this new feature you need to use the ‘hosted’ version of the web app https://app.plex.tv/desktop until your server software has gotten an updated version of the web app.

Did you link your Tidal account to your Plex account?

Ahh thank you! That was it! I normally (pretty much 100% of the time) use my local hosted version – because it’s faster and local.

When can we expect the Web client to get an update for local web clients?

Also has the Apple tvOS app got this Plex+TIDAL update yet?

cheers
James

Usually when there is a new server update.

No, the currently usable clients are named in the help article
