Plex - Tidal UI and Missing functionality?

Why is the UI so bad?..

On PC in order to play your music properly, you have to every single time… Click Tidal > My Tidal > Sort button > Sort by track > Press shuffle or choose a track. Why does it take 5 clicks to play a song??? Who thought this UI was “good”

On Android its even worse. Click Music > (if you have other libraries, change the library every single time) > Click My Tidal > Click the menu button > Change the Type to “Tracks” > Choose a song (You CANNOT push shuffle at this point, cause if you do it shuffles all your artists and not your tracks) > Click below the play button > Click shuffle. 7 or 8 Clicks depending on your setup of Plex, which is just ridiculous. When I hop in my car and want to listen to music, it should either just play with my last choice or at most take 2 or 3 clicks to get the music going. (Music > Tidal > Shuffle/Track)

Also Tidal boasts its ability to have discovery of music to your liking. Oh wait, this only works if you have an existing library? Why can’t I discover new music with my Tidal library??? That’s a HUGE function just completely missing.

I paid for a premium service and I feel like I am getting a mediocre service at best.

In android, it should remember the last library you used, so if the last thing you did was Tidal, opening the app should take you right back to the Tidal page. It does for me.

That’s not true. If you are viewing Tidal content, it will remember your usage and then offer up suggestions. Scroll down on the main Tidal page and there should be “Suggested Artists For You” and “Suggested Albums For You”. Do you not see these?

This is like the worst workaround in humankind history. Can we please make a real integration with the music library instead of this or an option to do the integration or not? the UI for mobile apps is ridiculous right now its really hard not to agree with that, sorry.

I’m sorry, but what integration do you want. You mean to mix Tidal content with your content?

The OP doesn’t have his own music, only Tidal.

There is not a “Suggested Arists for You” or a “Suggested Albums for You” inside of the Tidal library. There is only those options in your own PHYSICAL music library.

I said you can do this to avoid one step, making it 7 steps instead of 8 steps.

You are right, it’s not there. I was going off my memory and thought it was there. That is definitely a feature we want to bring for Tidal usage.

Yeah, and even if those two features were there its not what the users should want. Who wants to be suggested an artist??? I know personally I dont like every song of an artist, usually just 1 or 2 songs from them. I should be getting suggested tracks based on my listening like every other premium music service out there.

And the UI for Android is so terrible, and needs a complete overhaul. It used to be decent but slowly but surely its been getting more and more convoluted. When I open up google play music, I press two buttons and my music just starts playing “Library” then “Shuffle”. I dont have to shuffle through 5 different screens

We’re still adding to our Tidal feature and there are many more improvements coming. Being track based versus artist based is a common issue. We are trying to follow what Tidal themselves do, which is mostly artist/album/playlist based and not individual songs. Hopefully, we can find a common ground for both camps.
