Plex Transcoder Exited Due to an Error (Logs Included)

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: All
Plex Media Server Logs_2019-03-16_07-32-43.zip (2.5 MB)

I’ve been running into this issue for several months now, primarily with any and all new files that have been added to the server. Initially it was only some new files, but over the last few months it has debilitated my server entirely. I’ve tried everything that I can dig up on other threads, but it seems to me that each issue is separate and posting the logs myself would be the best solution.

Thanks for the help.

It might be related to Malwarebytes if you have that installed. Specifically the web protection. There is a thread discussing it here: SOLUTION: Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.

I did have MB installed, but after removing it to test I am still having the same issues.

Bummer. Well, it was worth a shot.
I took a quick peek at the logs, and though I have little experience with plex logs I did see something.

Mar 16, 2019 06:47:45.955 [29044] ERROR - [Transcoder] [matroska,webm @ 0423e400] EBML header parsing failed

This seems to happen with lots of files.

Seems to indicate a problem with the mkv files. Perhaps if you tried remuxing it? Does the file work if you try opening it with vlc or other players?
