Calculated bandwidth of 10537kbps exceeds bandwidth limit. Changing decision parameters provided by client to fit bandwidth limit of 2000kbps
Request came in with unrecognized domain / IP ‘136.52.21.36’ in header Host; treating as non-local
So the limit is coming from your client and it thinks it’s not local but a WAN connection. Are you on some sort of satellite / wireless internet connection? There was an issue before, not sure it ever got fixed, where the app on the Shield will detect some internet connections as being cellular but it doesn’t have a setting for a cellular connection like the mobile app version so it uses the default of 2 Mbps (2000 kbps) that can’t be changed.
@MovieFan, my ISP is Google Fiber. The NVIDIA Shield is connected to Wi-Fi from Google’s router. What you’re describing sounds like exactly what’s happening, but it’s strange because it only happens sometimes. Then clicking the back button and restarting the media nearly always fixes the issue and will allow it to play at full bandwidth.
Do you have any advice at this point? Either for confirming the issue or remediating?
Check the wifi networks on your shield. Maybe it’s connecting to some other network that is just in range so it’s randomly connecting and disconnecting. From what i see, i don’t think it’s a Plex issue, but a network issue. Alternatively if you can connect via ethernet to your router, that would likely solve all your issues.
@MovieFan, I checked the wifi connection recently when troubleshooting the DNS rebinding issue. It’s definitely only connecting to the Google Fiber WiFi.
Do you know the nature of the bug? Like is it related to the router? to DNS? or to the ISP itself? I could try replacing the router or setting up a pihole server, if it would help.
