Plex TV crashes when trying to play certain m4a files

Server Version#: 4.51.1 (Windows 10 x64)
Player Version#:8.13.1.23036 (NVidia Shield TV)

Plex TV is not able to play certain files. When I try to play such a file, the app crashes and Shield TV goes to its home screen. The file is M4A (aac) music file. I’ve tried converting the file to mp3 and the same happens.

I understand that something might be wrong with the file but all other players could play it.

Unfortunately, I don’t think any log line is relevant. Instead, I think we’re just seeing the app booting post crash. The file will play the file on any other player I tried, including Plex web app. I’ve posted the issue on Reddit r/plex and people could reproduce the bug.

Ich muss leider vom gleichen Problem berichten: Interessant ist, dass nicht alle m4a (AAC) Musikdateien betroffen sind, sondern nur bestimmte in der Kategorie “Various Artits”. Auch die verschiedenen Agentn können die CD nicht finden (eher unbekannte Künstler). Wo ist der Unterschied Keine Ahnung. Seit welcher Server Version diese Fehler auftreten, kann ich nicht mehr genau sagen.
