The first gif in this post is just insulting: Help us help you - how to provide logs to get your problems identified and hopefully resolved If you desired feedback you would be engaging your community more. So here I am doing something that feels futile but what else am I able to do?
I am currently using the latest app that the Nvidia Shield offers.
The lack of acknowledgement of how terrible the new interface is behaving is absolutely untenable. Basic navigation and use of the app is just out the window.
If I am watching a playlist of episodes, where is my skip episode button? It used to be right there next to the play button. Now, it’s just gone! I guess if I want to skip this episode I just need to let time pass for it to complete. Needing to scroll down multiple rows to find a listed queue is not desired or wanted behavior.
If I want to scrub back or forth in my episode to find something it behaves differently in different contexts. If the media is playing it will do the expected 30x forward/10s back. If media is paused it starts scrubbing based on playback velocities. (2x/4x/8x/etc) But even that isn’t consistent! Sometimes is decides to stick to one of them in all contexts. You just don’t know which one until it picks.
If I drill down into a movie, then decide I want to see what other works I have for an actor and drill down to their works, it then actually moves UP in the UI to the Browse Library interface and filters to that actors work. Two things are not behaving how I expect them to from here. 1: There is no clear filter option available. It appears that is the desired behavior from Plex so I can keep viewing media, but the option isn’t there. (It is when I select a genre category) 2: When I press back it is navigating like I am in the Browse Library interface and it wants to go UP to pick a library instead of UP to the movie I had drilled down from. I now have to spend time navigating the library back to the movie I was looking at. With how slowly the interface navigates the alphabet on the right hand side, this can take minutes.
This behavior causes me to NOT want to use these features because it punishes the user’s experience for using the interface.
Music/Video/Photo playlists are now just shoved together with no way to sort. Great. Cool. Awesome. /s
In short: The old app and design had its shortcomings, but all features were present and commands from the remote behaved consistently and as expected. The current UI could be fine with a lot of work put into it. The inconsistency and unpredictability is driving me up the wall.
