Plex updates causing issues

  1. I have updated the web app version of Plex and noticed that when in TV Shows, if you return to another screen other than the Home screen, the background remains and the TV theme continues to play.
  2. Also updated Plex on my iPad and discovered that now there are no backgrounds showing up.
  3. Updated version of Plex on my Shield TV Pro now does not show any “continue watching” items

On which exact version of PMS / Plex Web are you?

As for #1: from what I’ve seen, the theme will fade out as part of the transition to the new page – this usually takes 1-2 sec
I have not yet seen any background images getting stuck.

As for #2: there’s a feature suggestion addressing that.

As for #3: did you by chance enable the experimental universal continue watching feature on your account? This will result in on-deck and continue watching to be merged in a single hub.
Account Settings > Experimental Features > Enable early access to experimental features still under development=checked

I’m on version 4.53.0 of Plex Web and backgrounds and tv show theme IS indeed getting stuck when you hit the back button on your web browser.

As far as the background on the iPad, have no earthly idea why they would remove background images entirely. Stupid move on Plex part.

As far as “continue watching” being jacked now on the Shield TV Pro, had no idea about “universal continue watching”. Just looked and it was disabled, so the update to Plex on the Shield must be the culprit.

Theme/background being stuck → now I can reproduce it on my end too.
