Plex Upgrade issues with EasyAudioEncoder breaking some videos after 1.15.1.780

The newest beta release of plex 1.15.1.780 media server for windows includes a debug release of the EasyAudioEncoder which requires the debug version of the vcruntime library and therefore will not run on a normal system. This causes videos with EAC or other formats that need to be re-encoded to just lock up on playback. The plex logs are as follows

Transcoder] [eac3_eae @ 021f5680] EAE timeout! EAE not running, or wrong folder? Could not read

Running the easy encoder directly causes error messages about missing MSVCP140D.DLL, VCRUNTIME140D.dll, ucrtbased.dll. The Ds denote debug versions are are therefore not including in the normal VC2015 redistributable.

copying older version from folder EasyAudioEncoder-eae-69c1de6-21-windows-x86 into newer folder fixes it in my case. New version is about twice as big so I assume some serious adjustments were made or merely extra debug code perhaps.

Thanks for the fix, I was experiencing just the same issue and this came to the rescue.

Thanks for identifying this issue. This is causing me some major issues with my Plex servers, but glad to have a work around. Let’s hope they fix this one quickly.

Fixed in the next build. Thanks for noticing! Was a small case of overwriting the release binary with the debug binary.

This sort of issue reminds me of how nice it would be to have an archive of at least the last few versions of Plex software.
