As the thread says, as of yesterday, Bitdefender is blocking:-
Plex Media Server\Codecs\EasyAudioEncoder-133-windows-i386\EasyAudioEncoder\EasyAudioEncoder.exe
It is being detected as potentially malicious. False positive ? or something to be worried about ?
Running Plex Server Version :- 1.5.5.3634
It is a false positive. EAE is a recently added component of Plex Media Server. It’s most likely certificates and definitions have not propagated through all the vendors and systems yet.

Sorry for the bump but, since the last update of Plex Media Player, this has been happening to me. I have the latest version of Bitdefender installed as well. This only happens when I play items in my Movies section.
The process C:\Users…\AppData\Local\Plex\Plex Media Server\Codecs\EasyAudioEncoder-eae-69c1de6-41-windows-x86_64\EasyAudioEncoder\EasyAudioEncoder.exe manifests ransomware behavior and was blocked. Your files have been protected from being altered.
Report it to Bitdefender as a false positive.
I use bitdefender and don’t see this on the latest update.
