Plex Video Files vs Plex Video Files Scanner

I have an Other Videos type library and I’ve noticed there are two scanners that look appropriate for it. I have: Plex Video Files and also Plex Video Files Scanner. What are the differences between them? Is one more current?

“Plex Video Files” is the new scanner (implemented in C++), which is currently in development.
It is usable, but “still very basic”. But once it is done, it is supposed to be much faster than the old agent.

For the time being, I recommend you stay at the older “Plex Video Files Scanner” (still written in Python).
