Hello,
I have a few questions I was wondering about. Sorry in advance if these are answered already, I did a search and couldn’t find what I was looking for.
- In the Plex Library\Edit\Advanced\Scanner there are multiple scanner options. What is the difference between “Plex Video Files Scanner” and “Plex Video Files”?
The best I could find was this article Scanners | Plex Support but I didn’t see this answered in there. If I relate the Music scanner to this it sounds like the Plex Video Files Scanner might be legacy and the Plex Video Files is the method we should use? Is that right or is it different for videos?

When looking at photos on the Plex app, either on a Firestick, Xbox, or PS, (I view and browse by folder) when I go into a folder and select a photo to look at, it seems to always start the slideshow and I cannot stay on that photo (besides pausing). How can I either just see the photo and not auto progress to the next photo or change the time it stays on a photo for the slideshow so I can bump it up to the max?

Plex always bugs me about updating. I update but I guess not quick enough. In any event, is there a way to stop the notifications? For example, I launch the Plex app on my Firestick and the first thing it does is tell me there is a new server version do I want to update. Now I have my whole family using this and I don’t want them clicking yes. They know but it could easily happen by accident, yes I know I can create a different profile, it’s easier to just have 1 profile, plus I myself don’t want to accidentally hit yes. In addition, I use Plex Service so the updater doesn’t even work so how do I turn this off?

Not a question, just a request, I know it’s been asked and I know it’s in the wrong thread but please turn plex into a native service on Windows so everything works right and we don’t need a secondary tool to do it. While you’re at it add Tautulli or something like that too. I know there is some stats built-in but it could be improved. They would be wonderful native additions.
