Here’s what I don’t understand: In 2022, I have a Mac hooked up to a multi-channel audio interface, connected to a 5.1 speaker system. If I tell Audio Midi Setup where my speakers are, then Apple Music plays everything from stereo to Dolby Atmos and puts the channels in the correct speakers. Given the same setup, I move over to PLEX and listen to my surround MKVs and FLACs and it also seems to be handling the surround audio correctly… but any stereo music file in Plex (FLAC, mp3, etc) plays out my LEFT and CENTER speakers, not my LEFT and RIGHT speakers. Apple Music plays stereo files out the LEFT and RIGHT speakers.
