Plex web app not direct connecting but can access by manually typing IP

When I connect to https://app.plex.tv I get an indirect connection, however I can go to https://$EXT_IP:32400 and access my content without issue.

Server Version#: 1.13.5.5291
Player Version#: (Is this the same b/c I’m accessing via web?)

This thread from Dec 2017 seems to talk about the same issue I’m seeing.

Solved:

  1. I went to https://$EXT_IP:32400 clicked on my user icon in the upper right and chose “Sign Out”
  2. I opened a new tab, navigated to https://$EXT_IP:32400
  3. Was prompted to sign into plex
  4. New tab https://app.plex.tv
    ----- VOLA Direct Connection
