I’ve updated my Plex Server (located on a Synology NAS) today from 1.31.3.6868 to 1.32.0.6950.
Following the change, the plex hosted web app will no longer connect to the server, complaining about secure connections settings.
The setting/network/secure connections is still set to ‘Preferred’ and not ‘Required’. ‘Disabled’ is not an option that is present.
The server itself appears to work fine. Locally installed Plex connects fine. Plex HTPC connects fine. It’s only the web app that’s having issues.
Is there something I need to do to fix this update?
I believe this is related to Plex now using a newer version of OpenSSL, which is responsible for authentication.
I just ran across the same thing on my FreeBSD system. I can install the newer version of OpenSSL from the FreeBSD ports tree but I don’t know what you can do running Plex on a Synology NAS.
This has recently caused various problems across different platforms. Hopefully someone else will chime in and give you a solution for your platform
I am also stuck with this issue now. I recently updated and suddenly I have no remote access other than my phone. Any web browser has now completely stopped citing security issues. Please help…
Gotta say, none of that tip about OpenSSL and PMS means anything to me whatsoever - other than the heading being Linux.
Nothing in my set up is running linux that I know of (unless the Synology NAS is running linux by factory default?).
I had to rollback to 1.31.x and go delete the certificate file at /usr/local/plexdata/Plex Media Server/Cache/cert-v2.p12 which allowed the Plex server to start working again.
